Minot, N.D. – Third Street NE, north and south bound, at Fifth Avenue NE in Minot is open to traffic, as the Phase MI-1 Fourth Avenue flood protection contractor has completed the majority of the work scheduled in this area. Asphalt roadway and temporary striping was finished over the weekend as drivers are encouraged to drive cautiously through this area. The pedestrian route will go north/south on the west side of the intersection.

The Phase MI-1 Fourth Avenue enhanced flood protection project is a six block stretch of levees, floodwalls, a new sanitary lift station, and a major storm water pump station from just west of Broadway to Third Street NE. Construction on this phase is scheduled to be complete in early 2021.
