CarveWars Comes to the Magic City
We are excited to share with MRP viewers of a really unique and special event coming to our community. This is very clost-to-home topic and what our team works with day in and day out tied to flood control projects - how do we provide flood control throughout the basin and our whole city and not lose the character of who we are as a community? How do we add beauty back in spaces where we need to remove some of the natural beauty to create protection? How do we fix what we break? These are just a few of the questions our team works on when looking as the design of these projects.
When we heard about CarveWars we thought it might fit a few great niches in Minot. First, bringing a new and different event into our city for our residents to enjoy. Secondly, bring people into our community that may have never been here and show them why Minot is "MAGIC". And lastly (and our favorite), maybe this was a way to create some beauty from trees that once lived in the flood greenspace areas in a new way for our residents, and visitors to Minot, to find some beauty in those spaces again.
Once all of the details were laid out - we knew this was something we wanted to help support and share with the city and our nieghbors. Here is a link to share some of the details provided by 1,000 Trees for Minot on the event and why Minot was selected https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CEFT3CiqN/
Below a schedule of events so you know when you can see all of this creative wood start flying down at the Moose Lodge parking lot starting tomorrow at 9am.
