Minot, N.D. – As a part of MI-6 Downtown phase of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) there will be a closure to the 7th Street NE bridge starting Monday, June 2nd, 2025.
The 7th Street NE bridge will be closed to all traffic to allow for utility relocations and construction of new flood control structures and levees. The total closure will continue through the 2026 construction season, with a temporary crossing created during the winter of 2025-26 when construction is suspended for the season. The bridge will be closed again during the 2026 construction season until the MI-6 Downtown project is complete. Notifications of changes will be shared with the public as construction continues.
Additional access items to note during the closure of the 7th Street NE bridge and the construction season; Central Avenue, east of 6th Street NE, will remain open to local residents only, access to Roosevelt Park will continue from 8th Street SE as it does today, and Central Avenue businesses remain open.
