Minot, N.D. – Temporary detours will be in place at the intersection of 3rd Street NE and 5th Avenue NE starting on Monday, August 2nd. The intersection of 3rd Street NE and 5th Avenue NE will be closed as well as the 3rd Street bridge from 1st Avenue NE to 5th Avenue NE. Traffic from the North and South will be rerouted west to Broadway. The driving public should use caution and pay attention as this work begins.

This work is part of Phase MI-1 4th Avenue of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP). Phase MI-1 4th Avenue includes over 2,250 feet of floodwalls located between just west of Broadway and just east of 3rd Street NE. The project also includes earthen levees on both sides of where the Broadway Bridge connects on the north side of the river, and two removeable closure structures in the flood wall.
