Temporary closure on 4th Avenue NW to start Monday, June 7th

A temporary road closure will be in place on 4th Avenue NW from Broadway east to Walders Street starting on Monday, June 7th. Eastbound traffic will be rerouted north to 5th Avenue NW and Westbound traffic will be rerouted north to 6th Ave NW. The road closure is expected to be in place through mid-June. The intersection of 4th Ave NW and Walders Street will be closed, Sammy’s Pizza will be accessible from the north via Walders Street or the east on 4th Ave NW. The driving public should use caution and pay attention as this work begins.


This work is part of Phase MI-1 4th Avenue of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP). Phase MI-1 4th Avenue includes over 2,250 feet of floodwalls located between just west of Broadway and just east of 3rd Street NE. The project also includes earthen levees on both sides of where the Broadway Bridge connects on the north side of the river, and two removeable closure structures in the flood wall.
