Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) MI-2/3 Napa Valley/Forest Road Phases Announc

Minot, N.D. – As work continues on Phases MI-2 and MI-3 of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP), a major roadway impact has been scheduled to start next week. On Tuesday, May 28, traffic will be reduced from four lanes to two, one north bound, and the other south bound, along 16th Street SW from just south of Forest Road to 5th Avenue SW. Additionally, 7th Avenue SW from 16th Street SW to 17th Street SW will also be closed.

Utility relocations to accommodate the new flood control features will be replaced within the existing 16th Street SW roadway corridor. In order to accommodate the replacements of water, sewer and franchise utilities, this segment of roadway will be channelized to two lane traffic.

The roadway is expected to be channelized until work is completed, likely by the end of the construction season, weather permitting.

Safety is always a priority so please be vigilant near the construction zone.
