Flood project pump station work progresses Temporary closure of Third Avenue NW remains in place

Minot, N.D. – The closure of Third Avenue NW, just to the west of Broadway remains in place as the construction contractor for Phase 1 flood protection in Minot completes grading, concrete pavement and finishing work on the pump station in the area. The one block closure of Third Avenue NW between Fourth Street NW and Broadway started in June and is expected to continue until mid-August. The detour route using Sixth Street NW and Fifth Avenue NW to get around the temporary closure will remain in place.

In addition, a temporary closure of the southbound right turn lane and right driving lane of North Broadway near the intersection of Third Ave is in place. One southbound driving lane will remain open throughout the closure.

The work on Broadway is part of the Phase MI-1 Fourth Avenue enhanced flood protection project which includes a six block stretch of levees, floodwalls, a new sanitary lift station, and a major storm water pump station from just west of Broadway to the east side of Third Street NE. Construction on this phase is scheduled to be complete in late 2020.
