Senator John Hoeven visits site and has discussion on new $61.45 million of federal funding

The Maple Diversion Phase of the MREFPP plays a key role in connecting all completed phases together and providing complete flood protection for 60% of Minot residents in the valley.


Senator John Hoeven, Col. Karl Jansen with the US Army Corp of Engineers, city officials and members of the Souris River Joint Board had the opportunity to gather to discuss the newly awarded $61.45 million funding of the Maple Diversion portion of Milestone One of the MREFPP and how that impacts next phases of flood protection.


They toured the area where construction will continue over the next 5 years. They also sat down and discuss the impact this funding has on this project and where other phases are within the continued flood protection plan in the Souris River Basin.
