The Souris River Joint Board and the City of Minot hosted Local and Statewide leaders

On May 6th local and statewide leaders gathered to mark the completion of the 4th Avenue North Floodwall phase of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Plan. The Minot Area Chamber EDC red coats were on hand for a long anticipated ribbon cutting.

Governor Doug Burgum, Senator John Hoeven, Mayor Sipma, representatives from the Department of Water Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and local leadership tied to the project gathered to recognize the completion of this huge phase of flood mitigation in Minot.

While the flood protection plan is a long term project, there has been some significant milestones completed in the past few years. It is nice to celebrate those successes and continue with the work ahead to protect the residents of the Souris River Basin as quickly as we can. A huge thank you to the collaboration on all of these projects and for those who could attend the celebration.
