

Phase MI-1 4th Avenue Flood Protection Project Broadway Pump Station Testing Underway
Testing at the Broadway Pump Station, a storm water pump station at the corner of Broadway and Fourth Avenue NW, started this week. The Broadway Pump Station makes up a substantial piece of the Phase MI-1 4th Avenue Flood Protection Project. This station can pump 180,000 gallons of water per minute which would drain an Olympic size swimming pool in under five minutes. The station includes eight total pumps: four pumps with capacity to pump 40,000 gallons of water per minute,

The Phase MI-5 Northeast Tieback Levee is close to a 100% completed design. The next steps in this phase will be to schedule neighborhood meetings and outreach before construction starts. Phase MI-4/MI-4A Maple Diversion Enters Year Two of Construction
Phase MI-4A Utility relocation in front of the larger MI-4 Maple Diversion project has entered year two of construction. Western Avenue SW and 4th Avenue SW are currently closed to traffic for curb and gutter work and new asphalt pavement installation. The railway crossing connecting Burdick Expressway to 4th Avenue SW will have permanent barriers added for safety and to comply with quiet zone requirements. Temporary closure on 4th Avenue NW to start Monday, June 7th
A temporary road closure will be in place on 4th Avenue NW from Broadway east to Walders Street starting on Monday, June 7th. Eastbound traffic will be rerouted north to 5th Avenue NW and Westbound traffic will be rerouted north to 6th Ave NW. The road closure is expected to be in place through mid-June. The intersection of 4th Ave NW and Walders Street will be closed, Sammy’s Pizza will be accessible from the north via Walders Street or the east on 4th Ave NW. The driving pu
