Closure of Fourth Avenue for flood protection utility and road work

Minot, N.D. – The closure of six blocks of Fourth Avenue for flood protection construction is scheduled to start the week of April 30 and will remain closed for the majority of 2018. Park Construction, as part of the Phase MI-1 Fourth Avenue flood protection project, will be installing a temporary storm sewer bypass across Fourth Avenue as well as permanent underground utility infrastructure during this closure. Work underway on massive storm water pump station next to Broadway

Construction on a key component of the first phase of flood protection in Minot starts in earnest this week, which when done will give peace of mind for a large part of north Minot when heavy rains or river flooding comes. The Broadway Pump Station, a storm water pump station at the corner of Broadway and Fourth Avenue, makes up a substantial piece of the Phase MI-1 4th Avenue flood protection project, and when finished will be able to pump 180,000 gallons of water per minute. Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) MI-2 Napa Valley and MI-3 Forest Road Phases

Minot, N.D. – As work continues on Phases MI-2 and MI-3 of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP), the following roadway closures and impacts have been scheduled to begin over the next few weeks. Underground water line utility work will be taking place at the corner of 20th Street SW and 7th Avenue SW. The stretches of 20th Street SW from 5th Ave SW to 7th Ave SW and 7th Avenue SW from 16th Street SW to 20th Street SW will be closed to thru traffic. Temporary closure of Third Avenue NW set for mid-April

Minot, N.D. – The construction contractor for Phase 1 flood protection in Minot is planning a 10- to 14-day closure of Third Avenue, just to the west of Broadway. Park Construction is scheduled to close a two block stretch of Third Avenue NW between Fourth Street NW and Broadway, starting Monday, April 16 (weather dependent). A detour route will be clearly marked that includes using Sixth Street NW and Fifth Avenue NW to get around the temporary closure. “The contractor needs to install temporary storm sewer bypass pipes before they can start on the large pump station at the Broadway and Fourth Avenue NW intersection.
